Wortley Village Wedding, London Ontario - Sarah and Randal

Sometimes it's easy to read the emotions on a person's face, and in the case of Sarah & Randal's Wortley Village wedding in London, Sarah's beaming smile spoke volumes.  She and Randal never stopped smiling - even when kissing.  

Sometimes my job is easy.  Photographing a couple so clearly head over heels for each other, in the always cute Wortley Village, surrounded by their amazing friends and family makes an amazing day.  Of course, stopping in a favourite cafe (theirs & mine!), The Black Walnut, topped an already fantastic afternoon off perfectly.

Farah and Josh's Civic Gardens wedding in London was a perfect day, and I can't wait to show you more images next week!

Northridge Inn Wedding Muskoka - Heather and Eric

It wasn't exactly how they planned - their family and friends were there, it was relaxed and low key, it was sunny ... but it was windy.  Windier than it's been in a long time.  The chairs along the long dock of their ceremony site almost blew away.  Hair got messed up.  Programs took off in the wind.  But Heather didn't care.  The windy walk down that dock barely registered as she focused on the man waiting for her at the end.

Not only is the dock at the Northridge Inn and Resort in Muskoka one of my favourite ceremony spots, but the owners and staff are some of the friendliest I've come across.  They do my favourite kind of weddings exceptionally well - relaxed, laid back and natural, making it easy to concentrate on the reason for being there.  That's what matters.

As always, Terry from Scotia Entertainment was the only DJ for the job.  Who else could easily manage multiple rooms AND a ceremony on a fifty foot dock on an insanely windy day?

Grand Palladium Jamaica Wedding - Simone and Cale

Last week, I showed you some teasers from Simone & Cale's destination wedding at the Grand Palladium Jamaica Resort.  This week, I want to show you teasers of their Trash the Dress session!  Eve and I took the newly married couple to our favourite beach on the resort, on the far (very far) opposite side of the grounds.  Although the area was packed, we were able to find a corner to ourselves, making it seem like we were on our own deserted island.  It was definitely worth the trek!

Of course, no afternoon is complete without stopping at the jerk hut to refuel with some jerk chicken and paella ... a perfect way to top off such a fun trash the dress session in Jamaica!

You don't have to rent a big banquet hall.  You don't have to have 300 guests.  You don't have to abide by a strict timeline or checklist.  You don't have to do any of these things to get married - all you have to do is make the decision to spend your lives together.  The rest is just details.  

Genevieve & Jimmy made sure they did their day their way.  An intimate ceremony in the backyard, surrounded by their children, family and friends.  Home cooked food, kids swimming, adults getting to chance to catch up during busy lives, and family you haven't seen in years.  These are the important moments in life.
