Krista + Matt {Amherstburg Wedding Photographer}

Windsor Wedding Photographer

There's not many brides that are as relaxed as Krista.

While juggling a busy schedule, a busy toddler, and a busy life in Alberta, Krista & Matt managed to put together the perfect wedding hundreds of miles away in Ontario.  They didn't care that it was boiling hot.  They didn't care that the weather was iffy all day.  They just wanted to celebrate their marriage.

Krista & Matt exchanged vows under a canopy of trees just outside of Windsor, with a heartfelt ceremony that included their adorable daughter.  Afterward, with a threat of a major downpour surrounding us, we briskly walked along the river in Amherstburg, managing to work quickly to get photos before it rained.

When the storm finally hit us minutes later, Krista still had a smile on her face.  Not even a torrential downpour, complete with thunder and lightning, was going to take the shine off their day.

Congratulations on your Amherstburg wedding, Matt & Krista!  Thank you so much for choosing me to document your amazing day.

{Diana & Mike} St. Thomas, Ontario Wedding Photography

St Thomas Wedding Photographer

Diana and I have known each other for over 10 years now, and when she asked me to be in her wedding, I was honoured.  Being able to be a bridesmaid AND help my dad photograph the wedding was an experience beyond words.

Diana & Mike's St. Thomas wedding was full of personal details.  The ceremony in Waterworks Park had most of the guests (including yours truly) tearing up during the vows, and included a sentimental handfasting ceremony.  After the ceremony, we headed over to the North America Railway Hall of Fame in St Thomas for more photos - one of my favourite photo locations in the area!

Diana & Mike's St. Thomas wedding concluded with a tented reception in her parents yard, with an orchard as a great backdrop to a sweet day.

Sherwood Inn Wedding Muskoka - Cristy and Mike

Sherwood Inn Wedding Muskoka

Cristy and Mike knew they wanted to get married, and nothing would stop them.  Not a fire at the originally booked venue, and certainly not a little bit of rain during their vows.  Chilly weather?  They didn't even notice.

Cristy walked down the aisle, umbrella in hand, with only one thought - standing beside Mike to tell him how much she wanted to be with him for the rest of her life.

Their Sherwood Inn wedding was perfect - hand made rustic decor was spread everywhere, and little touches hidden in every nook and cranny.

Congratulations, Cristy & Mike!  I'm so honoured that when it came time to choose your photographer, it didn't even cross your mind to go with anyone else.  You, and your families, were so amazing to work with, and I was so lucky to end my 2012 season on such a high note.

Guelph Engagement Session - Nadine and Mike

Scotsdale Farm Engagement Photography

The first half of an engagement session is always the hardest.  Having an almost-stranger follow you around, boss you around, telling you to stop fake smiling, put your hand here, his hand there.  Look at each other, look at me, now make out like I'm not here .. It's awkward, plain and simple.

But then you start to loosen up.  You start to crack jokes with each other, laugh naturally.  And by the end of it, you may not have forgotten I was there, but you noticed I was less bossy.  I don't need to tell you to smile anymore, because you're already smiling at each other.  You don't have to pose, to make sure you're looking a certain way - you're being natural.

Those are the moments I wait for.

Nadine and Mike's engagement session started at an amazing location, Scotsdale Farm.  When they walked across the parking lot with their dog Paco beside them, I knew, even if they were a little unsure, that it was going to be a good day.

Congratulations on your engagement, Mike & Nadine!  Thank you for choosing me as your photographer, and I hope I managed to put you a little bit at ease.
